Overview
If your Entagged is behaving unexpectedly, displaying an error or the error message isn't leading you to a solution, here are several quick actions you can take. These serve as general fixes you can try, should you ever run into issues with the Entagged.
To restart the app you'll need to quit it completely to stop it from running in the background, then relaunch it. Here's how to do that on iPhones and Android phones:

- On iPhones with a Home button, swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

- Swipe the app up and off the screen to close it.
On Android
Using the Recent Apps Screen:
- On phones with on-screen navigation, tap the square or three-line icon at the bottom of the screen.
- On phones with gesture-based navigation, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold until the recent apps screen appears.
- Scroll to find the Entagged app.
- Swipe it up or off to the right to close it.

- Open the "Settings" app.
- Scroll down and tap "Apps" or "Applications" (wording may vary).
- Find and tap on the Entagged app.
- Tap "Force Stop".
Turning Bluetooth off and on again can solve a lot of issues, especially on Android. There a several ways of doing this:

- Scroll down and tap "Bluetooth" or "Connected Devices" (wording may vary).
- Toggle the switch next to Bluetooth to the "off" position.
- Wait for 10-15 seconds, then tap it to turn it back on.

Now your Entagged will show up in the pairing screen (previous screen). Now simply tap it to pair it again.
Alternatively, if your Entagged is still connected, you can do so via the Entagged settings: tap the app menu (bottom left) → Entagged with gear icon (bottom left) → Your Entagged (near top) → Settings → scroll to the bottom and tap "Reboot".
On Android
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- At the top right, tap the Profile icon.

- Find and tap on the Entagged app.
- Tap "Uninstall", wait and reinstall the app.

- Select "Restart" to reboot the device.
On iPhone
- Hold down the power button (or power + volume down button on newer iPhones) until you see the "slide to power off" slider and shut it off.
Please make note of any Entagged settings you've previously changed (e.g. enabling the append code button) and make sure to change them back after the reset.
This can also help if:
- The operating system of your current device is too old (or too new) for the Entagged app. The Entagged app requires iOS 15 and newer or Android 6.0 and newer.
- Your phone is having Bluetooth issues. (This way it's possible to rule out that the Entagged is defective.)
- Turn off the Bluetooth on all nearby smartphones/tablets.
- Leave the Bluetooth ON only on the device you are attempting to pair with the Entagged device.
- The light on the Entagged device should change from turquoise to orange.
- Now you can pair your chosen smartphone/tablet with the Entagged device.
