Overview
Firmware updates improve the performance of your Entagged device by upgrading its internal software. Keeping your firmware up to date ensures your device runs smoothly and is protected against bugs and errors.
It is good practice to keep your firmware current. However, avoid running updates at or right before a shoot unless the update addresses a specific issue you are experiencing. You can view the update details by tapping on the firmware update in the app.
How to update firmware
Follow these steps to perform a firmware update on your Entagged device:
- If an update is available, a red notification badge appears in the bottom left corner of the app. Navigate to the firmware screen by tapping: App menu → Entagged icon (bottom left) → Your Entagged device → “Firmware”.
- Scroll down and tap to start the update.
- Important: Keep your camera awake throughout the update by half-pressing the shutter button. If the camera enters standby mode and the update stops, turn the camera back on and restart the update.
- Once complete, a checkmark will confirm the update was successful.
Troubleshooting stuck updates
If your update gets stuck or shows the firmware version as "A 0.0.0" or "A ?.?.?", please refer to the firmware troubleshooting guide for detailed steps.
