- Click the magnifying glass in the top toolbar, located next to the links to the online shop and Help.
- Enter your search term. You can search for:
- Customers
- Subjects (Students)
- Access codes
- Jobs
- Orders

Close the search window
To close the search window, click Close in the top right corner of the page, or press the Esc key on your keyboard.
Find a photo by file name
You can search for a photo by file name if you know which job and album it belongs to. This requires some manual steps:
- Open the photo job and navigate to Photo Management.
- Click into the album where the photo is located.
- Use your device’s search function (CTRL+F on Windows or Command+F on Mac) to locate the file name.
- Results will show in your browser, though you may need to scroll through multiple pages.
If you do not know the specific job or album, there is no easy way to find the photo within GotPhoto. You may need to check the original photo files on your hard drive or storage device.
Note: GotPhoto does not rename files you upload into jobs. However, files are renamed within orders when they are transferred to lab partners.
The takeaway
The GotPhoto search tool helps you quickly locate jobs, customers, orders, and subjects. While you can search by file name within a known album, broader file name searches are not supported, so keeping your local files organized remains important.
