Overview
Next Gen is GotPhoto's comprehensive volume sports Graphics solution. It allows you to outsource your sports graphics tasks and manage the entire operation seamlessly through your GotPhoto account. While Next Gen provides the ability to create virtual team photos with no need to have all athletes available at the same time, we know that some photographers prefer the classic in-person version. In this article, we'll review your options for creating traditional sports graphics and memory mates.
Your Options
We offer two styles of traditional sports graphics:
Traditional | Traditional+ | |
Description: | A traditionally-shot team photo and a traditionally-shot athlete photo are placed side by side to create the memory mate. | A traditionally-shot team photo and an extracted ("knockout") athlete photo are placed side by side to create the memory mate. |
Price per athlete: | From $0.20 | From $1.00 (Price for 1 pose and up to 3 graphics, review all available graphic bundles here.) |

Workflow
The workflow for creating Traditional Sports Graphics is the same as any other sports graphics creation with Next Gen, with a few minor differences:
- Make sure all individual images are cropped for composition before submitting your job. The images submitted will be used as-is in your graphics and not cropped for best composition.
- At the top of the Next Gen Checkout Page, select Traditional or Traditional+ (instead of Full Composite):
- For Traditional Jobs: Select a template from the dropdown.
A full selection of all available Traditional templates can be found here .
For Traditional+ Jobs: You can use any of Next Gen's available templates.Best Practices: Traditional+ Templates
Make sure to choose a template where the athlete's individual photo is NOT placed behind the team photo. These templates are meant for Full Composite graphics only, and tend to generate a lopsided composition and awkward placement of subjects for Traditional+ graphics.
Here is an example of a template that should not be used for Traditional+ graphics: - If you have uploaded 5 (or fewer) images per athlete, you will be prompted to select whether you would like to ignore the first image for each athlete ("Ignore team images") or use it as an individual player image in your sports graphics ("Move team images").
If you have uploaded 6 images per athlete, the first image will be ignored. Click on Ignore team images to confirm, or click Cancel.
After canceling, please close the Next Gen window, and click Cancel on the Photo Editing tab.
You can check out again after rearranging your images in the Photo Management tab. - Make sure to upload your team photo:
