Overview
With Next Gen, you can choose between two team graphic styles: Standard 3D and Virtual Riser. Your choice depends on whether you prefer depth and realism or uniformity and clarity. This article explains the differences.
The big picture
Standard 3D provides a more traditional look with depth and scaling, while Virtual Riser prioritizes uniformity and visibility, especially for large teams. Both approaches allow flexibility for individual player customization.

- Created in a 3D environment.
- Players are scaled according to their position: those in the back appear smaller, while those in front appear larger, creating realistic depth.
- Mimics how the eye naturally perceives distance and size.
- Unique to Next Gen; not commonly used by other team design services.
- Produces visually appealing and realistic team photos.
- Includes full-length poses (feet shown).
- Drop shadow, reflection, and feet darkening effects are included.

- Players are stacked vertically rather than arranged in 3D space.
- Ensures all players appear the same size and in focus.
- Eliminates the issue of small, hard-to-see players in back rows.
- Recommended for large teams where clarity and uniformity are priorities.
- Not recommended for kneeling poses.
- Uses 3/4 length poses only (feet not shown).
- No practical limit to the number of players—ideal for very large groups.
The takeaway
Choose Standard 3D if you want a realistic, traditional look with depth and scaling. Choose Virtual Riser if you need clarity, uniformity, and scalability for large teams. Both styles support customization, so consider your team size and aesthetic goals before deciding.
