Create a Product Package (Prepay)

⚠ Please note: Prepay is currently only available to North American customers.
Prepay is not enabled as a default setting. If you would like to add Prepay sales to your account, please reach out to our Customer Care team at [email protected].

Overview

Product packages can include a variety of print, gift, and even digital products all bundled together, which are then offered at a lower price than when offering the items individually. This gives the best value to your customers and helps you achieve higher average order rates. It also simplifies product selection for customers, as several products can be ordered with just a few clicks. In this article, we will review how to create a product package for Prepay jobs.

Setting Up a Product Package

The prepay workflow works best with 2 photos (or less) per subject:

  • An individual pose
  • A group pose (optional)

GotPhoto will automatically use the first individual image (after the QR card) and the first group image from the subject's gallery and match them with the items ordered.

To get this photo/order matching process right, it's important to set up your prepay packages the right way!

  1. Open the Product Packages page by clicking on Products & Prices, and then clicking on the Product Packages tab.[ Classic Interface: Open the Product Packages page by clicking on Settings, and then Product Packages]
  2. Click the blue + Create product package button.
  3. Name your package and click Next.
  4. Click Settings to expand your settings options.
  5. Complete your settings (optional):
    1. Name: This is the package name that will be shown to your customers.
    2. Internal Name: This package name will not be shown to your customers.
    3. Brief description: You can give your package a brief description that will be displayed under the package name in your shop.
    4. Limit to one access: If you tick this box, customers cannot combine photos from multiple access codes (i.e. siblings) into one package.
    5. Description: Here you can put a longer description of the package, which will appear in the package details in your shop.
    6. Product image: You can upload your own package graphics to the shop. We recommend 6:4 aspect ratio 450x300px. Please note: the image will appear in the desktop version of your shop, not in the mobile version.
  6. Click Save changes to save your Package Settings.
  7. Click on + Add Products to view your lab's product catalog.
Please note: Products are based on the availability at each specific lab. If you switch labs in the future, you will need to create new packages.
  8. To select a product, click the Add button to the far right of it. To remove the product, click the Remove button that appears in its place.

  9. Once you've added all your products, click the blue < Back to product packages button at the top of the page.
  10. Update the Quantity column to adjust the number of product units you want to include in the package.

  11. Update the "Available for" column to indicate which products can be purchased for which photos.
    For each item, use either:
    • Only individual photos
    • Only group photos

Important: This is a required step for the Prepay workflow. In order for GotPhoto to know whether to match the product to the subject's individual image or the group image, the product has to be assigned as either "individual" or "group" within the package.
All changes will be saved automatically.

You can now add the package to a price list to set the price, and then link the price list to your Prepay job!

Note: The "Restriction" settings in the package do not apply in Prepay. All packages are single pose / single background packages. Even if you have these boxes ticked, only the first individual image will be pulled into the package, even if there are multiple individual images in the subject's gallery.

The Takeaway

Product Packages are a great way to incentivize your customers to purchase multiple products. By setting up a price package, you can boost your average order rates, make things more convenient for your customers, and have a setup ready to go for all future jobs. For Prepay packages, all products must be assigned as available to either "individual" or "group" only.
