Error: "Photo trigger is not available" OR "USB is not active"

This error code appears when your Entagged device cannot connect to your camera. This could be a cable issue, a camera port issue, or Entagged device issue.

To troubleshoot, please try the following steps (if your Entagged reconnects at any point, there is no need to continue with the rest of the steps):

  1. Turn on your camera.
  2. If you've paired the Entagged with a different smartphone/tablet before: Have all your photographers turn off the Bluetooth on their smartphones/tablets. Leave the Bluetooth ON only on the device you are attempting to pair with the Entagged device. The light on the Entagged device should change from blue to orange. Pair the smartphone/tablet with the Entagged device.
  3. Double-check that your camera's Wi-Fi and USB charging settings (and FTP upload, LAN and tethering settings, if applicable) are turned off.
  4. Check the port of your camera and at the top of the Entagged and make sure there is no lint or debris. Plug the Entagged and cable in again, making sure to plug the cable in the correct direction (exact instructions here)
  5. If these steps do not restore functionality, please follow the steps in this article.
