Overview
The Entagged device features an LED in its top right corner that lights up in different colors depending on its different states. It lets you see at a glance whether it is receiving power, paired with the app, completing a firmware update, and more. This article covers the different LED colors and patterns that you’ll see when using the Entagged.
These are the colors you’ll see during regular usage:
- Yellow/orange, slow pulse: The Entagged device is ready to connect, but is not currently connected to a phone or tablet.
- Turquoise, slow pulse: The app is connected but not in active use (e.g., the app is running in the background, the display is off, or the app has not been used for 30 seconds).
- Turquoise, continuously on: The app is connected and in active use. The Entagged needs to be in this state for codes to be saved in the photo’s metadata.
- Light blue, slow pulse: The app is disconnected, but an external barcode scanner is connected to the Entagged (last activity was over 30 seconds ago, but codes can be scanned with scanner).
- Light blue, continuously on: The app is disconnected, but a barcode scanner is connected and in active use.
When performing a firmware update on your Entagged, you will encounter these colors:
- Dark blue, continuously on: The Entagged is in firmware update mode and connected to app.
- Dark blue, blinking: A firmware update is in progress.
- Red, continuous on: The Entagged is in firmware update mode and not connected to the app.
- Red, blinking: The Entagged is in firmware update mode, but an error has occurred. Please refer to this article for troubleshooting steps.
