Change or Disable Photo Effects

Overview

You can offer customers the ability to render a photo effect for their ordered photos. Photo effects are enabled by default and can be managed directly from your price lists. In this article, we'll review how to change and disable photo effects, as well as how to expand your galleries with automatic photo effects.

If you are using GotPhoto's Green Screen feature, please note that photo effects can only be applied to JPGs, not to PNGs.

Toggling Photo Effects On or Off

To toggle specific photo effects on or off within a price list:

  1. Open the price list you would like to adjust.
  2. Click the Actions dropdown, and then select Photo Effects:
  3. Click the ON/OFF Toggle according to your preferences:

Disabling Photo Effects

To completely disable photo effects for a price list:

  1. Open the price list page.
  2. Click the ON/OFF Toggle under the Photo Effects column

Automatic Photo Effects

As an additional option, you can use automatic photo effects. Please contact our support team if this feature is not activated in your account. When enabled, the feature creates additional copies of photos for each access code with the photo effects rendered. This is an effective way to increase your number of photos per gallery. For example, if you upload 5 original photos with the automatic B&W photo effect enabled, you will end up with a total of 10 photos (5 original, as well as 5 B&W copies).

While only the original photos will appear within the gallery...

... the photos with effects will appear in the shop.

The Takeaway

Photo effects are a great way to add extra value to your photos. As a default feature, you can change or disable these effects as required.
