Overview
Index photos (aka "favorite photos" or "starred photos") serve a few different purposes for your job:
- It's the default photo that will be downloaded if you run a student data export.
- It's the "chosen" photo that will be used to fulfill prepay orders if you have more than 1 image per subject in the gallery.
- It will be the photo in the banner of your online shop if you have asked customers to choose their favorite / yearbook/ID photo.
By default, the first image after the QR card will be the index photo. In this article, we'll review how to assign a new index picture for a gallery.
Setting a New Index Photo
By default, the first image that follows the hidden QR card photo is the index photo, marked with this star icon.If you use barcode tagging, the index / favorite photo will per default be the first image in the gallery.
To assign a different index picture to a gallery, open the respective job and click on the Photo Management tab. On the album overview, select the album to which you want to assign the index photo and open it.
Click on the photo you wish to use as an index photo. A preview picture will open on the top right. Below this preview picture, you will find the option to tag the image as favorite image.
Once you click the star icon, the selected picture will show this new star icon: If you hover over it with your cursor, it will say "Your selection".
⚠ Important: If the customer has selected their favorite photo or yearbook photo, that will become the new index photo. The customer's selection always overrides the photographer's selection. The image will in this case show a heart icon in the subject's gallery. You can however override the customer's selection within a student data export.
