### **Overview**
The Photo Editing tab in GotPhoto allows you to request a range of professional editing services directly from your jobs. These services are designed to save time while ensuring high-quality, professional results. Depending on your job type, you will have access to different editing service options.
### **Accessing the photo editing tab**
You can find the Photo Editing tab as one of the top menu buttons when you open any of your jobs in GotPhoto.
### **Available editing services**
The services available depend on the job type. The following table shows which services apply to each type:

### **Managing editing requests**
You can request multiple editing services for the same job. Once one service is completed, you can request the next one.
- If combining Basic Editing with Background Extraction, request Basic Editing first.
- You may request Basic Editing or Extraction more than once. Before resubmitting, hide all previously edited photos to avoid duplicate charges.
- If you submitted a job too early, the editing request must be canceled in both GotPhoto and with the editing partner before uploading missing images and resubmitting.
- For Next Gen, use the [Help Request workflow](https://help.gotphoto.com/en/support/next-gen-create-a-help-request?hsLang=en) to order additional graphics.
- You cannot change job settings, Photo Management, or job status until editing is either completed or canceled.
- **Overwriting edited images**: If you upload your original images with exact matching filenames and file type after a Photo Editing job is complete, the unedited images will overwrite your edited ones. This can lead to a loss of paid editing work.
- **Recovery Options:**
- Re-submit the new images to the editing service.
- **Note:** Recovery by GotPhoto is not guaranteed and depends on image volume and the timeframe of the original editing service.
- **Best Practices:**
- Download all edited images to a local drive before uploading any additional files to ensure you have a secure backup of your work.
