In this article, we'll explain GotPhoto's status as a Marketplace Facilitator and how this affects you as a GotPhoto customer.

### **What is a Marketplace Facilitator?**
A marketplace facilitator is any platform that helps sellers and buyers transact business. It provides a platform for sellers to list their products or services, and for buyers to purchase them.
When you sell items via GotPhoto (whether physical or digital), GotPhoto is the Marketplace Facilitator for those transactions. As a marketplace facilitator, we are obligated to collect and remit sales tax for any marketplace sales through the GotPhoto platform. Tax calculation, filing sales tax returns, as well as the sales tax collection and remittance will follow the states' individual regulations, specifically marketplace facilitator rules.

### **How does this impact me as a GotPhoto customer?**
In order to comply with state-based legislation for Marketplace Facilitators, GotPhoto calculates, collects, and remits state sales tax on all sales made through the GotPhoto platform and owed in all states that apply Marketplace Facilitator regulations.
